Starter Motor problem with aftermarket Flywheel

Is there anyone out there heard or has problem with their starter motor with aftermarket flywheel?

In my case.., I am using ACT lightweight flywheel.

My 370z broke down 3 weeks ago.., and the shop found out that the Starter Motor has seized. This is the 2nd time had happened to me for the last 6 month. The shop concluded that the ACT flywheel does not match with OEM starter motor.

At that day.., I can not even push start the car (my car is manual). After reading some article found on google..., I think the problem was: "Starter motor pinion jammed with flywheel gear"..., but the ACT flywheel is designed for 350z/370z!!!!!

My question is WHY the Starter motor pinion jammed with flywheel gear??? What cause the starter motor to seize? or even fail prematurely??

Any idea why???

Is it really because of the flywheel???

I have had a few car in my shop with fidanza f/w issues but none with act.have they measured the distance between stock and act f/w? let me know if they do as i have a 370 on the rack right now with a jwt f/w and i can measure it to help.

What do you mean with f/w issues? Does it make the starter motor die prematurely? what kind of symptom does the Fidanza f/w make?

My car is already on the road now with my 2nd brand new starter motor.. but I am thinking to switch to JWT flywheel. I cant compare the ACT vs. Stock atm. But once my car on the hoist, I will give a comparison between OEM f/w vs. ACT.

Can you give a comparison between OEM f/w vs. JWT?

personally i would suggest a competition clutch steel f/w as its only 2.5lbs heavier than the aluminum sooo much quieter input shaft rattle.

I dont mind the rattle as long as it works... and I just wanted to make sure the root of the problem is the ACT flywheel.
