Under Hood Insulator

Does anyone not have insulator under the hood?

I don't have one and thinking to get it soon.

is it really helpful?

seems the engine temperature cools down very fast

and takes a long time to heat it up.

I believe it is because I don't have a insulator???

Someone help

It won't make a big difference on under hood temperatures, the heat is still being physically held into the engine bay. Also, the hood insulation is black to absorb heat radiation rather than reflect it back towards the intakes and such like a bare hood will.

You might hear the intakes more clearly though without the sound being muffled by the insulation if you have short ram intakes.
