oh what the hell, I'll contribute to another oil thread too.


Mobil 1, 0w-40, changed at 5K miles when we installed the oil cooler at the same time. (2nd oil change).

First change was at 1500 miles to nissan ester oil to get the break in crap outta there.

Will be changing the oil every 5K (barring track excursions) from now on.

Allegedly the valve train is coated with a material that has a mollecular affininity for certain blends of Esters.

Does that matter for more than (or even) quieting the valve train?

Probably not.
