GTM Torque Converter

I had it checked over by my shop last saturday and it runs great.
It runs nice and smooth and you can feel that it hooks up harder than the stock one.
The test will be April 2nd when the Z goes to the drag strip.
I still have to get the rear brake pads changed as i have toasted them doing burn outs last year.
Right now i can hold the car at 2000 rpm before the back wheels start to spin.
With new pads im hoping to hold the car ar 2500 rpm on the launch.
Now when i get the traction control with launch control 3800 will be a nice RPM to launch at.
Best time is 12.800 ( all motor) runs 12.85's all day. " one quick 7 AT "
Thank you Sam

Good to hear. What RPM could you hold it at before wheelspin with the stock torque converter?

With the snow storm that we got in our area yesterday (14 inches in my drive way and 16 f. degrees out side, i do not think it looks good for next weekend.
The 370 will not make it out of the garage.
May be they will race snowmobiles that weekend, 10.8 @ 129 mph.
and they sound great. ( only in Canada , you guys in florida have ano idea on what your missing out on) These guys are more crazy than the 9 second motor bikes that they race on the track. you have to see it as they drace them down the track ibn the summer as well.
I have snow tire's for the 350 z may be we can race it.
will post pictures tonight.

there's a guy here that races his viper against vipers's at the track all year. He put the smooth track conversion on it and runs with the rocket guys

UNKNOWN_370 03-29-2011 01:06 PM

So ur getting 12.85 with just the beefed up torque converter??? Any other mods? If there are no other mods??? I'm in this like stink on doodoo... lol

It ran 12.800 with the stock converter with stillen intake intake. CBE and berk cats.
On a good day it runs 12.851 all day long.
Weather is improving for the weekend.
J naut there is 2 inches of ice on my pool. If its too hot in Florida you should come up for refreshing swin.Z

Z eliminator 05-12-2011 07:32 AM

I ran a 12.42 @ 114.37
new best for a 7 AT and there's more speed in the car.

What changes are you planning to improve your time and when are you going to try again?

Z eliminator 05-12-2011 10:52 AM

checking the tranney fluid one more time. and im going to lean out the top end a bit.
Im also thinking of putting the factory intake manifold on and comparing it to the Motordyne 370, which is on the car now.
If you go to the forced induction threads and look under "the 7 AT how good realy is it "
i have posted the times and shift times for may car. It shifts the first 3 gears in the "MM mode less that .03 to .31 to .39 seconds for lag times between gear shift's 4 th to 5th is a litle slow .68.
last page or 2nd last page.

How many hours needed to install this part?

JB-370z 09-21-2011 05:47 PM

Not sure why your NA Z would be so much faster than others. Guess Nissan hooked you up, bastards.

He has pretty much every mod you can get while still remaining N/A including upgrades to the 7AT transmission. The rest is just driver skill and track conditions.

Z eliminator 09-22-2011 06:35 AM

It should even shift quicker when i get the VB in it.
