SES Light

So I was driving yesterday, and I turned on my A/C, I wasn't really paying attention at first but after a few min's I noticed only hot air was blowing out. I turned it off and then tried it a few min's later and still nothing. Then I pulled into a parking lot to wait for a min, and I looked down and noticed my SES light was on. I then drive and I noticed a slight bog in the lower RPMs, but as it reaches higher one's it pick's up like normal.

I remember reading on here a while back about some one having the G3 intakes and they rubbed a hole in one of the A/C lines. I looked over my lines up front and I didn't notice anything, I am going to look harder tomorrow. But it looks like I will be going to the dealer soon.....

take the bumper off if the driver's side didnt where into the aluminum ac line take it in.

Go to autozone first and have the light read. Give you better idea before going to the dealer. That way if it was the G3's rubbing you can put the factory intake back on before going to dealer. Maybe they wouldn't be wiser.

Doesn't installing the G3s require cutting? I think the dealers would be all over that.

the party where it would rub your a/c line is inside the bumper, so you cant just prop the hood and look. gotta remove that bumper.

A hole in your A/C line would not trigger an SES light. I had it happen to me with Stillen Gen 3's, maybe thats what you remember because I posted about it.

replacing the factory lines from Nissan is like 500 + labor. I would suggest you do what I did and have the hole welded shut instead. I think I paid something like $280 with labor and freon gas refill.

Sweet thanks guys for all of your input! I will be able to pull the bumper off this weekend....The welding idea is really good....what kind of shop would do that? Does Autozone still do that for free? I thought I tried to have one do it for me awhile back, and they said they didn't do it any more...I could be mistaken though....but I will keep you all posted...

Autozone didn't even want to help me recharge my explorer A/C after I bought everything needed. They stated that they can't touch my car for liability reasons. The guy did come out and talked me through it though.

So I was able to pull of my bumper today, and I think I found a very small pin size hole it one of my A/C lines. That appears to be the problem. I will have to take it in and have it welded. I have some pictures but they are on my phone..I need to upload them. But I still have the SES light. I failed to mention earlier that I installed a CBE a few weeks ago, but I really doubt that has anything to do with my light being on....owell at least I found out why my A/C doesn't work

Pics look horrible, I looked at them again, and you can't really make out the hole. However I did finally barrow a friends OBD2, and I popped co PO171 I guess it means, Fuel Trim Lean (Bank 1). I did some research on the code, and it said I could have a bad MAF, so I checked them and the are spotless. I had a bad MAF on a much older car, and the car would barely idle when it was bad, so I don't think that is the problem. It also said I could have clogged injectors, so I ran some fuel injector cleaner through. So far after I reset the light, it hasn't come back on. I will see tomorrow after I drive to Vegas....

So after the drive to Vegas the light never came back on...I guess all I needed was my computer reset...
