GTM: A Year in Review
A Year in Review: 2010 Who are we? GTM Performance Engineering was established in 2001 as a tuning shop with the first all-wheel-drive dyno in Southern California. In July of 2004, we were featured in an issue of Turbo and High Performance magazine in response to our growing reputation as a premier tuner. Since then, we have grown to design and manufacture our own line of Nissan performance parts. We are currently the world leader in forced induction kits for the Nissan/Infiniti performance platforms and have established ourselves as a major player in the performance aftermarket. Our line of forced induction kits is well rounded to attract a variety of end users, from a basic 100hp add-on to a 1000whp extreme race car build. In 2010, we developed and brought to market the world’s first twin turbo kit for the 370Z producing well over 500whp. Major Accomplishments for 2010 GTM rolled out the Twin Turbo Kit for the 370Z and shortly thereafter began work on an ambitious project: 1000whp 370Z using our Stage 6 Twin Turbo Kit, GTM 4.5L Stroker VQ37VHR. This car was at the SEMA show at the SPC booth and was also featured on the front cover of Performance Auto and Sound Magazine. ForceGT.com also did a feature on the same car: Build: 1000 Horsepower Twin Turbo Nissan 370Z Part 1 In addition to our Twin Turbo Kits, we decided to offer a more economical forced induction solution for our 370Z/G37 customers. Enter the Rotrex based GTM Supercharger Kit. With this kit, we are able to cover the modification needs of the vast majority of our customer base. Here are some key points about the GTM Supercharger Kit: After literally installing and tuning every supercharger kit available for the VQ platform and seeing their short comings, we got the inspiration to develop a kit superior to all others. Problems with the other kits that we wanted to address with our own include: not supplying a decent amount of power, belt breakage and slippage, obnoxious gear lash noises, limited power expansion and lack of the OEM look. Some of the key things we did to achieve our goal are: SUPERCHARGER NOISE : We chose the Rotrex unit, a very QUIET supercharger compared to anything else on the market. SUPERCHARGER BRACKETS: Our supercharger bracket is a 3 dimensional unit made out of thick billet aluminum to prevent any flexing. We also mounted the supercharger unit as close as possible to the engine to limit the amount of flex possible, as well as keep the belt length down between pulleys. BELT AND TENSIONER DESIGN: We have over 80% belt wrap on our supercharger's pulley and by utilizing the factory automatic belt tensioner, over or under tightening is simply not possible. POWER EXPANSION: Changing the pulley on the supercharger is less than a 20 minute job. AESTHETICS: The GTM Supercharger kit maintains the clean OEM look. ENGINE MANAGEMENT: With the GTM flash we are to able to maintain the OEM drive ability so the car will run like stock, only with a lot more power. POWER DELIVERY: The GTM supercharger is the best bang for the buck out of the box. http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...0Z%20SC/65.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...0/P1140882.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...S/P1130168.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...S/P1130015.jpg With our Stage 0 Supercharger kit for the 370Z and G37, we are seeking CARB approval. Fortunately all the work that we put into the kit is paying off with us having the most reliable supercharger kit on the market. Hot on the heels of that success, we adapted our supercharger kit for the 350Z and G35 equipped with the VQ35HR. 2010 was a good year for GTM as we began increasing public awareness of our existence and dedication to top performing products. This is demonstrated by getting on the cover of DSport magazine along with a product page in the same magazine. http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...portCover2.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...tPartspage.jpg In addition, we have been featured in several ForceGT.com Ezine articles. Build: 1000 Horsepower Twin Turbo Nissan 370Z Part 1 Build: 518 Rear Wheel HP Twin Turbo Nismo 370Z By GTM Tuned: GTM Motorsports Twin Turbo 427 RWHP Nissan 350Z In addition to traditional media exposure, we have dramatically improved the quality and impact of our YouTube videos. Here are but a few examples. GTM Performance Engineering Part 1 GTM Twin Turbo Nismo 370Z GTM Twin Turbo 370 40th Anniversary with Traction Control GTM Supercharged Nismo 370Z GTM Twin Turbo G37 Super Sedan Looking Forward For 2011, Baker Nissan and Baker Tuning have partnered up with us to begin developing new parts. Baker Nissan has been kind enough to lend us a Nissan Juke test car for parts development. For that platform, we will be developing upgraded brakes, suspension and power plant components. In addition, we will be developing a Lysholm (Roots Style) supercharger kit and a turbo kit for the G37X. This year, we will also be looking for a new G25 to adapt our Rotrex based supercharger kit to Infiniti’s new base model car. This will complete our forced induction lineup for the Z/G platform. On the tuning side, we are working on a way to tune VVEL to maximize the performance of forced induction on the VQ37VHR. For our customers with Nissan/Infiniti’s new 7-speed automatic, we will be developing stronger components to handle the extra power delivered by our forced induction lineup. We also intend to release our stroker kit for the Skyline GT-R’s VQ38DETT that increases displacement up to either a 4.2L or 4.5L engine along with other tuning goodies for Nissan’s Supercar. Can not wait to get all the toys from GTM for my 370 Z.
Sam calls my 370 " our car " and as a personal interest in it. Its going to be one fast 370. Oh yes " it cost a lot of money to go fast " We are hoping to get at least 460 rwhp out of the stage 2 The longist wait will be for the fully built 7 AT. 4.08 gears traction control, 460 rwhp, 305 35 18 drag radials, and a lot of other stuff. It going to be one fast car. |
I personally cant wait for the 7AT to be fully upgradeable so those MT guys can get their asses kicked again :tiphat:

With the exception of Jnayts 6 mt i kick every N/A 6 MT asses at the drag stip.
Not even close to 12.800 i run and i trap at almost 112.7 on a good day. And the tranney is stock. I now have a GTM Torque converter in it. Should go easy 12.6's now I also ahave taken Nissan mangers for test rides in my car. They are speachless on how quick it is and how fast it shifts gears in the MM mode. They are shocked how quick it gets to 60 mph from a dead start Can not wait for all the Toys to get here. When you talk to Sam ask hime about's Steve's car in Canada. (z eleiminator) |
I have smoked, snorted, and injected the GTM drug, aka: Stage-2 TT kit....
As a high maintenance customer (Very picky, right Sam??) I was extremely wary about which FI setup to purchase/ install. I went back and forth juggling SC or TT, what stage, supporting mods, and what brand(s) would be used. It took me months of severe question and answer sessions with different vendors. After the dust settled there was only one clear choice. This option stood hands and feet over the competion by a considerable margin. There was no room for second place as second place is the first loser. In my decision to go FI we (I say "we" because Sam consulted and guided me like a friend) chose the Stage 2 TT kit. Reasons were that: 1. I am the adrenal junky 2. I wanted room for expansion 3. I like boobs, and TT kits attract boobs like a moth to a flame. Now that the TT kit is installed, running top notch, and my grin is permanent I could not feel any more at ease and comfortable with the decision. She will only see spring pressure until there is a bulletproof 7AT build....but in the mean time Sam has more than earned my future mods business. We soon will be taking on the suspension with supporting mods, braking, and transmission of course. On a side note...I would like a body kit...loving the "Amuse" kit, but need to speak with someone to address my concerns....any suggestions? All-in-all Sam gave me a place to call home, a place to go with any questions or concerns (& my hard earned greenbacks)............that place is called; G T M!!! Thank you Sam! |
*Clap clap* looking forward to see that SC 370 in TA! and of course the VVEL tuning.
Win some races. |
Nice job Sam! 2011 is going to be a good year ; )
|
Yes it will. Im expecting to have the SC by the end of march or at least the VVEL with the traction control and Sam is going to tune my N/A with the Up rev.
