Central 20 ECU Update and Exhaust manifold released
I hope this isn't a repost:
I know Hunter from BPAuto posted the exhaust manifold in an Exhaust intake thread. I didn't want to steal any thunder so heres the link to his post. http://www.the370z.com/intake-exhaus...xhausts-4.html I wasn't sure just where to post this, so I hope the general engine & drivetrain section works. Man that's a ton of money for something that a local tuner could do for a fraction of the cost.
The tuner that did my LSx motor added a dual tune (87/93 octane), removed speed/rev limits, bumped timing, firmed up the transmission line pressure, added a torque converter lock-out function, etc....for $150 By the time I get my car and break everything in, hopefully the price will be more in the range I'd like to spend for a tune. I understand that a new product will be more expensive when it comes out, but Austin is a hotspot for tuners, and there are some local guys that are wizards when it comes to tuning. I think I'll turn the keys over to them. |
Overpriced, unnecessary. Tune with osiris will gain you more for half the price.
Oil cooler shouldn't cost more than 380 dollars. Manifold looks great |
Manifold wrapped
Stumped upon their wrapped manifold pic and thought I would share

I don't think the 370 can pull off the "smile" front grille. Actually, I hate that front grille! Ugh.... but that's just my opinion.
That's an interesting wrap. Looks like a weird mix of metal and ceramic... |
the original post says "CVT and eVCT maps are also modified". What are CVT and eVCT? I Googled these terms and it points back to this article and a few others that are not referring to cars.
Thanks. |

First off you guys do understand Japan product come with a premium. Not because they are superior generally speaking, but because they have such limited market there. Ohio has more cars on the road than Japan does. People in my income bracket don't own cars there, it would be impossible to afford. So the people that own cars there have generally speaking larger than average incomes. The market is very small, and they import most materials, so the products made are usually very very low production runs, under 100 units. So they have to charge higher than normal prices to remain profitable.
It is highly unlikely that they designed the software to tune the ECU. I would hazard to guess they are using the Techtom software like Technosquare, AAM, etc use and are just making a base tune using that software. |
