Big Difference With Redline Oil

I would be interested if others have the same story. I changed my oil on Saturday, and used Redline. This was my second oil change. I moved from the factory oil to Nissan Ester Oil on the first oil change.
This is definitely not my imagination. The car idles much smoother, and the oil temps are down between 5 and 10 degrees. My car consistently had oil temps of 220 to 230. After putting in Redline, the oil temps are running at 210 to 215, and only hit 220 for a short period of time during frequent stop and go over about 30 minutes duration.
I have never had an oil consumption problem...but then again I followed the recommended break-in to the letter. IMHO, the 370Z likes Redline. If she likes it, then I like it too! :tiphat:

Big Difference With Redline Oil

Just curious. Where did you get your Redline? Any places that I've found are more expensive than I can justify, especially since I can get 5 liters of Mobil 1 for just over 30 bucks.
If I could find a decent price on the Redline, I'd definitely try it.

I ordered it online from Jegs. This stuff is expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

I noticed a difference with Amsoil's Signature Series. Its not uncommon for a quality oil to smoothen things up a bit.

I have followed a similar path with my '09 370. I drained the factory fill oil at about 1250 miles and refilled with the very expensive Nissan ester oil. I ran that until 5K miles and refilled with Redline 05W-30 oil. I bought it by the case from Amazon.com for something like $9.97 per quart delivered to my front door. The Nissan ester oil was about $14 per quart at the dealer after I paid the tax.
I will change the Redline again in a few weeks when it hits the 10K mark (5K on the oil) and have ordered a Blackstone analysis kit. I'll post the results of the analysis.
I have never exceeded oil temps of about 235 degrees and I don't think valid comparisons can be made with the oils used on an engine that has less than 10K miles on it. Many have reported that the high temps go down a bit as the engine breaks in. I have been experiencing oil consumption, about 1 qt. every 3K miles but it appears to be settling down now with hardly any consumption for the last 1500 miles. I don't think that you can go wrong with the Redline oil, and for as hot as these engines run and the complexity of the VVEL valve train, the 370Z's will be hard on oil. 5K OCI's may seem a little excessive but I just feel better not going past that mileage. I also use a Mobil 1 110 filter. It's slightly larger than the standard, and is considered one of the best. I'd try a Purolator Pure 1 if I could find it in my area too.
