but damn it is quick on the track.

I have driven with my parents's GT-R before and that AT isnt that much faster.

and 2nd to 3rd is ******* harsh and I love it.

your lucky if I had a GTR my son wouldnt even get to wash it let alone drive it.

The NSX ran less than 15% drivetrain loss, auto or manual :(

Another reason low power doesn't mean low performance.

That means I'm only making 40 HP more than my NSX was in the 370Z, instead of the 80 at the engine. Combined with the 300 lbs of extra weight, and I may need some HFCs sooner than I thought! :D

I wouldn't sweat it -- determinations of drivetrain losses are based on what a chassis dyno tells you empirically and what the manufacturer claimed the engine makes at the crank.

Several car companies deliberately underrate their crank figures so that chassis dyno numbers are closer -- this will translate into happier customers who feel they got what they paid for as well as seemingly lower drivetrain losses.

Also, my guess is Nissan is quoting the value using PS, which is typically a few percent higher than HP... that also throws things off.

This is why it's an estimate of drivetrain loss ;)

They know that I am a safe driver and that I wont start street racing.
