How much did u pay for (ester) Oil Change?(dealer)

I changed my first oil change in the dealer shop where i bought the car.
and they charged me $84..
I asked him why it is so expensive? and he told me that ester oil is expensive.
Today, I went to different nissan dealer shop for oil change.
and they only charged me $38 with ester oil..

which dealer charged wrong??

The dealer that charged you $38.

38 for an oil change with oil and filters and labor?

where....?

that's pretty damn cheap

:icon17: Your second dealer ($38 dollar one) put regular oil in the car. No Ester. :tiphat: If I were to get my oil changed from dealer, I'd probably stick with cheap $29 oil change too. Ester is only recommended NOT required. Also, the car is under warranty. So, things go wrong, dealer will fix it by law regardless of the oil since they did the change.

I paid $64 for an ester oil change. I intend to switch to Castrol on the next oil change.

it was tyson's corner Nissan & Mazda in VA.

Even the invoice says "ester oil" and I told them how comes the ester oil so cheap?
and they look for my invoice and said maybe we have cheaper price than other dealers..

I think someone put wrong price on the ester oil..
or maybe they put "ester oil" on the paper and put the regular oil...(if they did that I will sue them~!! haha)

The ester oil runs around 10-11 per quart, so unless they really messed up the pricing, you got a standard oil change.

Ester oil runs at near $12 per quart... that's crazy if they only charged you that.

I think Brown's Fairfax charges like $100 for an ester oil change.

my dealer quoted me 100. and their "free" oil change would have cost 60 if i wanted ester oil. I then asked if i could bring my own oil (redline) and still get the free change, they said 'then we can't guarantee the work...' i'm like... ok so wait... you were going to put conventional oil in my car, but i want to bring my own synthetic and thats somehow worse?" .. "yes"

changed oil in my garage last week :)

The day I bought the car I bought ester oil and filter $102.00

Started to shop around, found cheapest price on line. (Here's another he said she said). Went to a service counter (different Dealer) and he said Nissan was pushing Mobile One but now its Ester. "If a customer comes in for an oil change and doesn't specify, we put in Mobile One".

Thuth

I don’t see why people are not doing there own oil changes on their Z? Oil changes are easy on our cars and you will know it was done right the first time doing it yourself.
