Any oil marketed to increase horsepower output is falls under the category of snake oil BS. I have nothing more to say on that  Royal Purple is junk, not because the oil sucks, but because the marketing and pricing does. Kind of like AMSOIL... :roflpuke2: |

Ever built and torn down an engine after using Royal Purple? Didn't think so. I have, among many other people who actually know what they're talking about. |

Here is a one-line summary of what I found: all oils marketed as synthetic protect equally well, essentially. However, I have found some oils such as Mobil 1 0W-40 and Red Line 10W-40 to provide enough protection to actually prevent and mitigate engine failures. Anecdotal engine building wear analysis means everything to people who actually build engines. Probably doesn't mean much to somebody who pays a shop to install bolt-ons :ugh2: |

How many have you tore down and built? How many heads have your decked? how many have you ported and polished? |

OK chump. Let's recap how you started this argument: Quote:

My only statement was that RP is overpriced, mis-marketed garbage. And it is. The oil is good, but definitely no better than any other Group IV or V-based synthetic. I'll let my actual tuning, mechanical, and engine-building experience speak for itself. Seems a lot more relevant than having a piece of paper that supposedly states you have a conceptual understanding of such things. Experience > Degree. |
Somebody is answering questions with questions and is running from his previous statements and I think it is you! What the matter, you been called out and you are running now, no facts or answers just **** measuring questions. Let me put my waiters on the **** you are talking is starting to fill this thread up!

Hey I think your wife called and she wants her car back!

Up until your inane post, this thread was actually filled with useful information. Claims, specs, and personal proof that certain oils do indeed protect well, no claims bashing other oils. It's your fanboy antics that opened the can of worms. Burden of proof. I'll say no more. |

You, sir, are a moron. And I will stoop to such a level of immature name-calling just because of this idiotic comment. :tiphat: |

So you stop projecting! |

You are the one who started the claim that RP is BETTER THAN EVERYTHING. Burden of proof. Prove it, or shut up. All I have to say is it's overpriced and mis-marketed, much like AMSOIL. |
Gosh Guys, I'm sorry I asked this question. I didn't want to start something negative. I have decided to go with the larger Purolator Pure One Filter # PL14610. I used nothing but Purolator Pure One's until GI Joes closed then I had a hard time finding them. I'm going to buy them from Amazon, they have a great track record with me.
As far as the oil goes, the 0W-30 synthetic from Castrol seems to have the best results. I just want to confirm it would be okay for the NW area here in Tacoma/Seattle. According to the results from another thread Red Line did horrible and Royal Purple was just okay. |
