I am looking to swap out the stock LSD for a better one. Which is better and what do you guys think about these LSD's.

No say YES to drugs and the LSD for the Z.

From what I have heard and read the quaife will be the best for a DD as its more suttle than the others. Now how much difference will you see since you already have one, probably not much unless you track the car.

from what I have heard and read, you will hear it clunking (for lack of a better word). The quaife is suppose to be the quietest of all.

Carbonetics Carbon 1.5 way is the best hands down for the track, its the lightest of the bunch, and very grabby, quiet as well, the metal one is a completely different story.

Nice, So you are really liking your carbonetics? Did you notice a big difference on the track?

Cmike2780 07-12-2010 07:14 PM

Anyone have a ballpark figure on price including install?

HKYStormFront 07-12-2010 07:16 PM

friend of mine has a track car with the quaife diff in it and while it still turns just fine, it really does feel strong. i can feel a bit of difference in the twisties vs driving other 350's with stock LSD's. noticeably higher exit speeds. he said it made a HUGE difference vs his stock LSD (granted it was pretty worn out when he switched it out). he said he went with quaife because he didn't trust carbonetics at the time, dunno if that's changed now or not

Cool, thanks

it grabs pretty hard in daily driven use, I havent taken it to the track yet but there are a few streets around where I live where I tend to drive a little more spiritedly and it powers through the turns with ease with no slippage whatsoever, its also very quiet which I think is what makes it great for DD use, I also believe Mike Bonanni had the carbonetic in his time attack 370 and had nothing but great things to say about it. Import Tuner Mags Greddy TT'ed 370 also uses one. The biggest thing that turned me on about the carbon LSD was the fact that its 8-10 lbs lighter than the rest and if you're trying to shave weight, that kind of thing matters.

good LSD's run between 1000-1400, install at a shop will usually run around $200-300
