BTW, if you want to avoid the clunk from 1st to second gear let off the accelerator 1/2 sec to 1 sec b4 pushing in the clutch. It happens because the car holds its revs for a sec. If youve ever driven another stick and pushed the clutch in while you were still holding the gas down some you'd get the same sound. Usually happens when people are reversing outta driveway.
