synthetic oil

HI,

Is the oil in the car that come form the factory synthetic? or normal?

Thanks,

shadoquad 06-28-2010 01:46 PM

Not synthetic. I believe it is Nissan ester oil. Think it's 5W30.

There are plenty of informative threads about what oils Z owners prefer to use and why, so take a look around :D

EDIT: I stand corrected. AK says it's just standard oil, and I'm apt to believe him.

:drama:

It's NISSAN Non-synthetic 5W30 Ester oil.

Most have changed theirs for the first time (typically "upgraded" to synthetic) in the 1500-3500 mile range.

Nissan says use of sythenetic oil in the 370Z voids any and all warrenty.

huh... I thought it was regular oil. Not synthetic and not Ester oil.

:iagree: 370Z comes with NON synthetic, NON ester oil. Ester is only recommendation and optional choice by the owner.

This is a joke right? I mean, that is ridiculous and all.

FWIW, it can be shown that synthetic (you pretty much pick the flavor) offers several advantages to conventional and yes, even Nissan "Ester" oil.

the resistance to heat break down is a good start
