5000rpm cut off

I just bought my 2010 370z roadster in MT about 2 weeks ago. One thing that is getting really annoying is that when the car is in a stand still position it wont rev up beyond 5000rpm. The manual says cuz of the "fuel saving cut off mode". Well I wanna take that **** off!!!! I wanna hear my engine if I want to! Anybody know how to take it off?

It's called a rev limiter and is designed to protect the engine from foolish owners revving the engine with no load!!!

NYBladeZ 05-12-2010 11:17 PM

you like to sit at a stand still and just rev to redline? Yeah Nissan is a bit ahead of you and put that in to protect the engine. If you wanna hear it put your foot down ;) while in gear.

I can rev to red line on my auto, even when i'm in park HA!

fairladyZ34 05-12-2010 11:42 PM

and i think your supposed to wait 1200 miles before going over 4k rpms unless you did that in 2 weeks

jesus if you want to do it put it in first and hold the clutch in the rev limiter only is in effect when out of gear

dennisc5000 05-13-2010 09:10 PM

Well I wouldnt say I want to rev the crap out of it, and yea I already put 1400 miles on the car in 2 weeks lol. Im just excited about the new car and wanna have some fun with it.

O BTW Seems like im the only 370z convertible in Los Angeles County and Orange County ive only seen coupes, and those are still rare

Gunzero 05-13-2010 09:13 PM

Here comes another, my engine/transmission/clutch/(fill in the blank) is borked and Nissan won't stand behind the warranty

In which case he'll be all, "I missed the dog and e-braked and broke it." And we'll be all, "You're stupid, you can't drift." And he'll be all, "Don't make fun, make this constructive." And AK will be all, "This thead's locked."
