RPM cut at 2500??? What's wrong with this??

Ok. I have 6M 370z. I was driving down the road and all of a sudden, my car just cut the RPM at 2500.:shakes head: I couldn't take my car past 2500 rpms about 5 mins. Fortunately, it came back to normal now and running very well...
Would anyone know what is possibly wrong??

Was it hot by any chance? It Could've gone into limp mode?

my car did this once as well it was throwing cawshaft position sensor over adv. errors like like crazy for both sides, shut the car off for ten turned it back on and no problems since my guess is the ecu may be a little too overprotective or there was some kind of interference and it just took a while for it to figure it all out that it was safe again.

Well my RPM cut came back wouldn't go over 3600 and tada both my cam position sensors are faulty. i only have resistance across 2 of the three pins in each sensor and the manual says there should be resistance across any combination of pins

anybody want to take bets on whether they void my warranty or not?

hello 1slow370, sorry to revive this thread but your problem sounds like mine. Except mine isnt throwing any codes :(

What did Nissan do in the end?
Could you downshift from 4th to 2nd and force the revs up that way? If so, were you able to wring it to redline (before you ran out of road because it would take an eternity)?
