7AT question
This is most likely a stupid question but I'm going to ask it anyway because it seems very odd for an automatic.
When in manual shift mode shouldn't the transmission auto shift at redline? I was on a private road and decided to actually snap off a couple redline shifts. I delayed my shift from 1st to 2nd a little to much and noticed the car revved to 8k. I thought this was interesting so I tried again, not as fast this time and much to my surprise I bounced off the rev limiter not once but twice! It NEVER upshifted either, I quickly shifted it myself and just babied it the rest of the day. Is this a normal occurrence? I assumed all auto's had that as a safety feature. Before you say anything I don't notice anything else odd with the tranny. |
Manual mode is just that manual shifting. it's not a sports mode auto that tightens the shift pattern.

The manual mode does not upshift.
if you wanted to make it upshift while in manual why not keep it in automatic? :shakes head: And odd my revs don't go over 7500 |
