6MT Shifting problems

Hi all,

I have a Nismo Z with 900 miles on it. I recently noticed the shfit gates are little bit rough when shifting. Is this normal? It does the same thing after the car is warmed up. For example, when I shift from 2nd to 3rd, I feel a little resistance or bump in the stick before totally into 3rd gear. The gear shifted fine without any grinding. Just the stick felt sluggish. It happens to all gears.
And if I shift to N and back into the same gear, its perfectly smooth. I noticed this a lot in Non-SyncRev mode. But I also noticed this in SyncRev mode.

oh yeah I noticed this on my megane most when I shifted to first.

If I drive and I stop put car in neutral then go first it felt kinda rough.

but if I go neutral again and then first it is completely smooth.

has something to do with something still spinning but you stop it when you go into gear the first time.

but I have no idea what the exact thing is.

Totally normal. The shifts are a bit clunky.

It comes and goes. Some owners switched gear fluid, and it helped them quite a bit. Try not to be too hard on the gearbox by slamming it in gears. I did that with the 350Z out of anger from the clunkiness, and it made it worse even after replacing the transmission. I've been pretty patient with my gear box, and it feels great after a year.

What's more interesting, which could be a placebo effect, is how much easy it is to shift and drive smoothly after getting lightweight pulleys. O_o

Clunky

Well, I don't think the roughness is actually inside the gear box. The clunky/roughness is coming from the stick and shift gates itself. It feels like the stops catches the stick when you shift in different gear sometimes. It feels like the stick wouldn't go all the way into the slot without feeling a bump. The car shifts fine. Just the stick doesn't feel smooth.

The shifter is directly mounted to the transmission, so what you're feeling is inside the transmission itself. Its totally normal. If you come from MT cars that use cable linkages or very rubbery shifters you probably aren't used to the feel of a direct input shifter.

definitely normal, if it bothers you, swap out your tranny fluid for redline, some say it helps

it is normal, but also you mist give your car a 2500~3200 miles brake in period to see if any problems come up.

I have a 09 Nismo#0234 and it does the same thing every thing that I have read says this is a normal condition :driving:
