Dynojet Results for M6 + GTM Test Pipes

So this past Sunday I headed over to T&R Racing's annual Dyno day to throw back a few drinks, meet a few people, and get the Z a baseline dyno before the LTH's come in and I start getting into power mods. Thus far everything is stock, T&R's dyno wasn't providing torque numbers that day, just my luck. However I was able to get 3 runs, the first two were back to back the 2nd was about 5 min later. I let the car cool down for a good hour before it went on the dyno and all #'s are uncorrected.

1st Run: 288.92 (3rd gear and SynoRev on not that it makes a difference)
2nd Rune: 291.15 (5th gear, I didn't hit the speed limiter but came damn close)
3rd Rune: 293.54 (5th gear, car had a bit less than 5 minutes between 2nd and 3rd run):happydance:

Now I know it's a dynojet, and it's notorious for being a bit giving, but damn I don't know what to say. Try not raining on my parade guys, I'm going back after the LTH's come in, still running stock exhaust. The car had about 4300 miles on it when it went on and I babied the hell out of it for the break in process.

Dynochart is at home I'll see if I can grab a picture and post it tomorrow.

What was the ambient temperature during the pull?

kevin.z 03-24-2010 07:01 PM

r those numbers with test pipes or no? u said everything is stock.

RCZ 03-24-2010 10:23 PM

We only rain on the parades of people who don't know dynojets run a little high, those are nice numbers considering stock car should run 275 on a d-jet.

Sorry for the confusion, the car is stock minus the test pipes. IMO the sound quality of the exhaust really steps up with the test pipes.

RCZ, 715+ posts later and about a year as an active member on this forum has definitely taught me a thing or two about dynos, and you've definitely helped along with all the other guys on here who I'm not naming right now. :tiphat:

I am definitely happy with those numbers :happydance:. The GTM test pipes will be for sale as soon as Tony gets me my LTH set. To keep things in perspective, a DE 350z put out 231.xx whp on its best pull. I have the video but there's so much unnecessary jovial bs that I don't want to post it, I'll get flamed for sure, maybe if I get around to editing it.

Hopefully these numbers will only get better as the power mods start coming in. Quick question, I haven't measured how much weight I've dropped with all the carbon work, braille battery, removing spare etc, but do you think that would help put out better #'s? I know the OEM panels are pretty light as it is and it's not a massive loss but hey every little bit helps and a lot of the panels were free ;).

I'll post ambient temps when I get a hold of the chart at home.

tat is what i wanted to hear. do you have video of the stock exhaust with testpipe? rep added!

NYBladeZ 03-25-2010 08:09 AM

of course, I'll do some editing so you don't have to watch my friends and I excessive enjoyment and get it posted later today/tomorrow.

Just to add fuel to other fires, I followed break in procedure and have thus far only used Nissan Ester oil and oil filter :stirthepot:.

Dare you to post it on my350z:rofl2:

you'd officially be flamed and called every name in the book and told your car is shyt compared to the DE/HR

I've already stirred that hornet's nest, I couldn't help it.

YouTube - Carbon Z + GTM Test Pipes on a Dynojet for baseline runs

Here's the vid. It starts off after the first pull which was done (incorrectly) in 3rd gear. You see me run up to the dude and tell him to turn off syncro rev and go in 5th. I didn't include the numbers on purpose, none of my boys at home have been told my numbers and they are youtube addicts, but if you want to know read the above posts.

Remember the exhaust is STOCK except for GTM test pipes, add rep if you thought it was a cool or helpful vid.

Dayum! I wanna see that oil temp gauge after that one! nice vid.

NYBladeZ 03-25-2010 09:45 PM

Knock on wood bro, it didn't go past 230ish and my engine doesn't burn oil but I'm definitely going to have to invest in an oil pan spacer and cooler this summer. First things first, gotta get those LTH's. For anyone on the fence about test pipes, GET THEM! Hell you can buy my set for a good deal after Tony hooks me up.

RCZ 03-28-2010 11:19 AM

I'm happy I was able to help at all man, you have an awesome car coming along by the way, love checking out your threads. Car looks fantastic with the carbon.

NYBladeZ 03-28-2010 11:24 AM

next thing you can help me out with is giving a full review on that stillen supercharger, need to decided on who to go with...
