Not sure on NA will the VQ will do much past 7500, I think those who have gone up to 8000 have not seem much more power after the 7500ish point.

I think a high power NA motor is much more impressive than a forced induction one.

My car made power all the way through to 8150.

How did the motor feel going above 8k? I know in past motors it was a great idea to bump the redline but today it seems from factory they put that redline pretty close to the top already.

That's gotta be with a tune. I don't think the VQ will hit above 7600 without one. I too make power all the way to 8000.

:iagree:
But it cost much more money to go that route and see insane hp levels.

Yeah with a tune, just wondering how 7500 v. 8000 feels with the engine and inside the car. Sound good, not rough/rigid/etc.

from the few dynos I've seen with the limit raised it looks like the power flatlines so there is no benefit other than stress on the motor and the sound. Back to the original question, we all know that no tuner has yet beenable to tune the VVEL, do you think when that happens and it surely will eventually that it might get the Z closer to 370whp?

I dont think there would be much of a difference with 500 more rpms. The engine feels rough at 7400-7500 why would it not sound that way or even worse at an even higher RPM

I personally would leave the red line stock and not change it. Even with built engine, would sure make the engine stay in better shape for sure. Keeping the engine safe is a important aspec to me.
