what's the best engine oil cooler for you?
what's the best engine oil cooler for you? stillen? nissan motorsports? HKS? greddy? are expensive ones like HKS better than cheap oil coolers? what do you recommend? i live in a very hot country!

The one I was waiting to see in the States was ARC's. It's actually mounted at an angle and runs full length across the front grill's opening; much classier than those to date. Nissan's does not come with a warranty—even if you have a dealer install it. There was double-row cooler that one of the diehard's here is running, but has yet to make to the public. Lots of threads on this issue, and a search will give you hours of reading. They might not answer your question, but they will give you some more insight.

here's a rep point for an informative answer lol Oil coolers arent really needed unless you track your car, but peace of mind kicks *** too~

Most of the kits are essentially the same too, the stillen and gtm onesreally only differ in the plates. I got the gtm HD oil cooler over the stillen because of the thermostatic plate versus the pressure plateas i'm in a cooler climate and have more of a concern for cold startups. also the ball and spring valve in the stillen plate has been known to be noisy. it's just an oil cooler so there really is no need for the fancy and super expensive japenese kits, and i wouldn't even consider the over priced dealer kit unless they decide to warranty it down the road. the larger cooler should only be used on dedicated track cars or if you live somewhere REALLY warm.

AE Racing Oil Cooler because of the capacity.

Custom!
Time will tell if a 19row will suffice on a track in the Texas summer heat though.... |
i can easily reach 260 to 270f on the highway when i'm gunning it. 200 to 220f on traffic. I'm not really going to track the car, i guess i just want some piece of mind.
so the results of a cheap oil cooler and an expensive oil cooler is basically the same? i'm leaning towards a cheap 19 row custom oil cooler if the results are the same and safety won't be compromised? are taiwan non branded coolers good or no good? |

*Site is not the actual manufacturer's sites, but show what the product is. |
I've been looking at putting one of the B&M oil coolers on it...they have one that's 11"x11" that has higher heat rejection than the Swedish unit. (Looking at the specs on both - if they're comparing apples to apples - hard to say. 20k vs. 29k.) That's a good company with trustworthy products, and it's relatively inexpensive.

the ARC cooler looks great, and they make high quality ish

ordered HKS. can't wait for it to arrive!

Mr. REP,
What are your solution to Z owners complaining of oil temp issues in A. Hot weather conditions B. Sitting in traffic C. Short sprited runs in your car.(non track conditions) 240-275 does not put the car in limp mode, but can this engine take thoose types of temps long turn. |
