i had no pressure or very little pressure until it got to about 2-3 inches from the floor, then the clutch would engage/disengage. once i got it to the dealer the pressure issue was gone but was still making the noise. car is 3 months old bought it new with 60 mi on it, it now has 13500.

update: dealer has my car as of yesterday and they provided me with a rental via enterprise. i was given a nissan versa, extremely slow and extremely ugly. i asked why i didn't get a comparable car and they said nissan requested that i get a nissan rental and that was the only one available. i should get my car back today hopefully. i know now how a dog feels when it gets neutered after driving the versa.

just picked up the car, no issues with it now. did have to bring it back though to have the passenger side window reset since it wouldn't auto up like it used to and have the reverse lockout adjusted because i went to shift into 5th and 6th and went way past the gears. they fixed it in about 30 min though. can't say i see a different in the sound or feel of the clutch but hopefully i won't have any more issues or it will be right back up there.

I know this thread is old but I've just got a used Z with 5000 miles on it and it has the same issue - clearly audible clutch vibration. Sometimes I get a slight grind as I shift up into 2nd too, and my bite point it high like USMCASA describes. I know you guys said it's normal, but I just drove a friend's Z, which has 16000 miles on it and has been tracked repeatedly, and his clutch is A LOT smoother. I'm not happy. My $hit is comparatively clunky. I'm hoping Nissan will agree and do something.
USMCASA - how is your clutch now? Did the noise come back? |

Well three months down the line it's not the shifting I have a problem with anymore - I've learned how to manage that and I shift a lot smoother on this gearbox now. But I'm STILL talking to Nissan about the clutch vibration. They diagnosed it as the throw-out bearing, which they changed along with the clutch cover. That fixed nothing. I now suspect it could be the master cylinder. What else could it be, considering revving the engine up to 3k RPM and back again fixes it temporarily? I'm otherwise lost for answers. It pisses me off that they deem it 'normal', when I'm now an avid member of Vegas' Z community and NONE of the other guys' 370Zs have that clutch vibration. It pisses me off even more when my Z-owning friends drive my car and say 'woah, that is rough'. I ADORE my car, but I really wish I didn't have this issue. |
2011 Z with 580 miles,Clutch feels weird, noisy when not engaged, noise goes away when clutch pedal pressed down.Normal or not??Never had that before. It almost feels like you can hear the flywheel spinning, and definitely feel vibration on the clutch pedal while pressing down.Vibration and noise goes away after the clutch pedal is fully depressed.
Anything wrong,or it is just normal part of brake in ??!! |
