no problem at all!

We are very excited about this road race pump. It should have a dramatic effect on the fuel pumps performance in track conditions. We are putting some really cool things in it, and we have never seen anyone else do anything quite like it. I have a bit of confidence in how well it will work, but I don't want to make any bold claims until its tested. We are putting good effort into it and aiming high... We really want something that helps everyone get the most out of this car on the track.

So for those of us who will be going super/turbocharge and tracking the car I'm assuming(but don't know anything about this stuff) that both the return and in tank surge will be required but don't have to be done at the same time ? I'm super stoked that someone is working on the fuel starvation but kind of scared at what the cost of something like this will be.

Yes, everything is (or, will be) available separately, and all compatible with one another.

The fuel pump upgrade/install kit, which is done and available, allows you to run the Walbro 255 once you pass the limits of the stock fuel pump. Unfortunately, we have not been doing any major HP upgrades to our 370z to be able to tell you how far the stock pump will go... but with the FI kits being available now, I am sure that information will become readily available any day now!

The Return system (also done and complete and tested) is optional... it will be recommended when running larger injectors with a piggyback to aid in tuning idle and cruising, and also allow you to get more out of the injectors on the big end... all due to adding the referenced regulator mostly.

The surge can, which I regret to say we have not yet finished, will be for improving fuel control in the tank for road racing or auto-x.

We HAVE however finished the 370z twin fuel pump assembly, and will be posting some pics of that beauty this week... just waiting on a little hardware piece to arrive. I know, ridiculous to finish this product before the surge can upgrade, but someone did actually order this already, and it was mostly a matter of minor adjustments to our existing 350z twin pump

As for the price of the surge can upgrade, actually, i think you may be pleasantly surprised. This is currently our ONLY development project now, so wrapping it up should come at the pace we originally hoped for earlier in the season. I *swear*, its so close!!!

rereading this entire thread, i am sort of embarrassed to have not finished the surge can yet. We had it mostly worked out, then sort of lost site of it when the season hit and we became slammed with orders. First thing in the morning I am going to put that project back on the workbench.

Phunk, we look forward to your products. I'm sure they will be well worth the wait.

travisjb 04-23-2010 10:58 PM

...patiently waiting... and ready to test if you need... next event is may 1/2 (next weekend)... I have a data logger as well, so we can chart fuel levels vs G-loads etc

we are chugging along here at a snails pace! hopefully i have pics of something new for you guys in 10 days or so.

for now here are pics of the twin fuel pump assembly

PnP with the stock siphon hose and level sensor. this design has been proven in the 350z with over 100 sold now. for the 370z, we only had to make changes to the overall height, level sensor bracket and location, and siphon hose barb.

perfect for those 600-1200hp cars :)

thanks

Looks nice! Wish I had one of these installed.

Vegitto-kun 04-30-2010 04:32 PM

Sam and phunk, do you think a fuel return system is a good idea for a turboed, daily driven, G37/370z running 450whp to 500whp? Does it provide extra blanket of safety for boosting a stock block? Thanks.

NYBladeZ 04-30-2010 07:24 PM

Props to Phunk for addressing an issue ahead of its time. I wonder where are all those members who gave phunk heat when he asked if you could power shift the Z. I knew he'd have quality stuff to add to the forum. This upgrade will be a must when Z's start going FI oh how I love watching the aftermarket for the Z blossom day by day.
