New Z1 Clutch failing at 2k miles...?

Installed new JWT HD CSC, OEM CMC, and Z1 Clutch & Flywheel Kit (Standard full face/z1 performance midweight, RBF 600 clutch fluid

6 weeks later, 2.5k miles later I am starting to feel vibrations in my clutch pedal when shifting between gears. One week after vibrations first noticed, at above 4k-5k rpm shifts (spirited highway driving), my car gets stuck in a gear and I can't get out to up/downshift...Takes a few tries, then once out of gear it refuses to go into gear without a few tries again. Pedal suddenly becomes floppy, basically loses some firmness/pressure for a few seconds similar to feeling when CSC gave out (just not as severe).

3 seperate issues
1. vibrations in clutch pedal
2. engagement issues (can't get out of gear/in gear under spirit drive)
3. Pedal will lose firmness immediately after engagement issues occur

This wasnt a problem when spirited driving for the past 1,500 miles after clutch break in. Why suddenly now? Loose bolts?
:bs:

Sound slike you may have some trapped air or leak.

Try bleeding the CSC and seeing if that improves it. Personally I've only used the JWT HD CSC once and it failed in my personal car while hooning around.

I've been running the JWT HD csc since 2017 and it's worked flawlessly with 3 different clutch upgrades. I replaced seals during the clutch changes just as a precaution

i will try bleeding the CSC. Do I do a full bleed or 1/4 bleed?
if that fails then I guess dropping the trans is next...

Check the cluth fluid reservoir. If the CSC us failing, you will notice a low fluid level and this is an indicator of a leak.

Did you replace the pilot bushing when you had the trans out? A failing pilot bushing can cause the input shaft on the trans to sag and cause difficulty shifting into gears.

Took my car out for the first time in 2-3 weeks
20 min drive, somewhat spirited
No problems were noticed until heat built up, then some gear shifts felt "sticky" when going from 2-3-4. Definitely hard to go from 1-2 when accelerating hard in 1st gear.

Got back home, hard to get into 1-6 gears while idle in my garage, and even harder and almost impossible to drop it into reverse. No idea what could be causing this but i will flush some fluid out tomorrow if time permits

Clutch fluid reservoir has been full for the past 2500 miles. Fluid level has not changed thankfully. Pilot pushing came with Z1 kit and was replaced.

UPDATE: Have not flushed fluid yet. Drove the car 2 days normally 2-3k rpm shifts without zero problems for 2 hours. Yesterday did a hard pull gears 1-4, then the pedal lost complete pressure, stuck to floor. Almost got stranded but made it home in 4th gear. Clutch fluid is full. Pedal is stuck to floor. Is this a CMC issue all along? Maybe the shop lied and didnt put in new CMC?

edit: pedal is normal again next morning, same symptoms as initial failure before work was done...

Did you get this fixed? Your clutch is not disengaging. If your fluid is not low, then there is air in the line or something.

NorthStyle 01-09-2024 07:27 AM

How does the fluid in your CMC look?

ZoomZ 01-09-2024 02:01 PM

Hard shifting is usually related to the Clutch MC. Have you looked into that? Is it OEM install or previoulsy repaired/replaced.
