My suggestion to anyone living there is to move out and vote differently wherever they land. That state is a clown show and is imploding in on itself.

While I agree California is a clown show, most of our issues come from the fuking idiots that do the intersection takeovers. That's triggered the cops to pull over a lot more modified vehicles. I have no problem getting my car smogged here and I'm not a big fan of loud cars (Tomei equipped Z's come to mind). I don't care for the states nazi tactics though on how they're proposing to deal with the loud vehicles.

I'd prefer not to move away from California if I can help it (I can drive my car year round in beautiful weather), we just need to get more people to vote differently. Maryland appears to have pretty stringent smog laws and is controlled by Democrats too. Wouldn't surprise me to see them follow in California's footsteps.

The thing that concerns me the most is the epa and flex fuel tunes and that's nationwide. The noise thing doesn't really change anything. The decibel limit it still 95 decibels and it's been like that for years. Maybe it'll get the **** boxes off the road

SeeThruHead 05-07-2022 02:09 PM

I'm actually all for this. Noise pollution is a serious issue.
Just like camera speed traps in school zones. This will help reduce noise pollution in places that need it and not affect anywhere else.

Don't get me wrong, Maryland has its issues, but they are no where near California's when it comes to this situation. We have to get our emissions tested every two years, and if you read about it, it sounds stringent, but in reality its a joke. I just took my Mazda last week. We actually have self serve kiosks you just drive up to, put your info in and hook the testing cable up to the OBDII port. As long as there is no CEL, you'll pass every time. This is why I have race cats on the Z. No one is doing visual inspections and the Cops don't care about loud exhaust kits. If they really cared, they would be doing visual checks and enforcement. They just want the $10.00 fee associated with it for every car that is registered in the state. Its all a scam. States don't give a crap about noise pollution. Its all about bringing in more money to the government. With the mass exodus from California, they will be increasing taxes and fines for those that stay. They will need to make up for the difference for the ones who escaped..... Just my $0.02

Our's is tested through the OBDII port also but we certainly don't have drive up kiosks (that would be convenient). We don't have state visual inspections but the smog station can visually look and see if you have non compliant parts and fail you. It's easy to find one that'll look the other way as long as it doesn't have any codes. The young kids in their **** boxes have given us a bad rap, I don't get a second look from the cops. You're right, it is a big scam. For every gallon of gas, 55 cents of it is going for taxes :shakes head: California is a great state, unfortunately, the other party is completely fuking it up. I've been here for 60 years, I watched it go through the changes that brought it to where it's at right now. It would be hard to pack up and leave at this stage of my life but if the right opportunity presented itself, if be up for it. It just wouldn't be in a snow or democratic state.

Intersection takeovers seems to be an issue in every big city. It’s all about the likes/views on IG and Tic Tok that filming takeovers create, hopefully that generation will mature in next year or two and those following will be into something else.

It's gotten ridiculous here in So Cal. Maybe once someone gets killed they'll get serious about prosecuting these idiots

lived in California for over 30 years.. they are ridiculous once your car is flagged for something they always would find a reason to pull you over at least that was my case. glad i made the move to Vegas but way to many of them are moving here and ruining it for the ones that wanted to get away from what California was becoming.
i know they are itching to pull me over when i come to visit for my window tint and modifications but once they see where i am from they usually leave me alone but there is always that one cop who tries to get me for something but its a losing battle for them.

Beatable.

I kind of like this. There are way too many bikes in my town just revving like they are at the starting line of a MotoGP race. And the **** boxes that just run with out an exhaust, not because they modded it that way, but because their 1990 dodge caravan's exhaust headers just rusted through. If's fucken annoying and it doesn't even need to be that way, because like in our cars simply removing the muffler doesn't really add any performance so you can keep your car, bike, truck at a reasonable volume and still have it sound good.
