Doing some refresh to my Z,Ignition coils, Spark Plugs, new FI exhaust,

Getting high on miles (985xx)

So my question is, where do you guys get the ignition coils? And which ones?

I see the Z1 High energy set, going for $398.00

The OEM at dealer going for $112,00 each

EBay ones for about 120 for the set (For sure fakes)

EBAY, he says those OEM's for $240.00.

Hitachi $53,00 each.From Conceptz.

The Z is my DD, so nothing special or HP hunting.

some eye candy for the help;)
Thanks

Either buy Nissan coilpacks or the Z1's.

Unless you are having misfire issues, there is no reason to replace the ignition coils.
Generally the VHR coils last a very long time.

This and if you are having issues go OEM and call it a day!

Thanks Guys

No misfire, but a hipcup at idle. i think got bad gas, cause was giving me code P0300 after filling it,got a can of techtron and the code went away, but the hipcup still there.

Next week will be back at home, so doing the plugs and exhaust and checking all the vacuum hoses.
here some photos from SEMA

Nice pictures I really like that Chicane yellow Z looks very nice! There is nothing to gain over the Genuine Nissan OEM ignition coils only replace them if you have to and have a misfire issue you will know if you have one. Replace your spark plugs and check for any possible vacuum leaks. Nissan highly recommends to only use “top tier” gasoline in your Z if you think you may have got a bad tank of gasoline somewhere try a different gasoline station.

Rock Auto has Delphi, NGK, Delphi and Beck Arnley

I would only go with Hitachi brand personally.

Update

Well. after going crazy looking for the miss at idle, found the cause

This hose was the culprit

Missed connecting the hose under the Intake air duct.

problem solved.

Adding myself to this thread. I have a cylinder 5 misfire after doing pulls for ecutek logs. With a weird idle, I'm tempted to take the plunge and get the coils. I replaced mine at 90K but a ton has changes since then.

You did more work than I was going to do. I swapped the coil pack with another cylinder, the problem stayed. Pulled the plug, looked ok, the problem still stayed. It's with my idle settings dumping too much fuel in. We're in the middle of tuning so I'm not too worried about it.

1050x injectors on 93 octane N/A require finesse to tune the idle. I have no doubts Seb will figure it out.

Anyone replacing stock coils with aftermarket coil needs to be careful. As video will show not all aftermarket coils are better then stock. https://youtu.be/4d3nrBZjYKA

thanks for the heads up everyone. Changing my spark plugs since I am around 91,xxx and was planning on getting the Z1 coilpacks since I was pulling them out anyway. No issue with the car at all so i'll skip them and spend that money elsewhere lol
