Oil pressure gauge install issue

1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone,
I went to install my AEM oil pressure gauge today and I realized that I can’t fit the sensor with my GTM oil Filter relocation kit. What have other people done to get around this? I tried to swing the lines in front of/below the oil pan, since this would move the 90° bends that are causing the issue, but the lines aren’t long enough.

Im thinking that I could alternatively put the oil pressure sensor for the gauge in a tee fitting in the middle of the oil line to the filter, OR I could buy longer lines to swing them in front of the oil pan and leave the sensor in OEM spot. Any advice here?

Thanks!!

I threaded mine into the relocation block supplied by GTM. I'm not sure what version kit you have but mine came with a billet aluminum relocation block, so install was a breeze.

What do you mean by relocation block? The block at the oem filter location or the block that the filter now screws on to? So you had an extra unused fitting on one of those?

I have a different adapter that threads to the engine block so i just drilled and tapped a NPT thread for the sensor.

It looks like you cant do that. Would you be able to use something like this?

Not sure why I didn’t think of tee’ing the sensor there! looks like this should be a pretty easy/compact solution. Too bad I just put in fresh oil and I don’t have an extractor... guess I’ll be waiting another 3000 miles to install

Any chance you remember if your relocation block has 2 o'rings like shown here? The smaller o'ring in mine was mangled so I had to find one that sorta fit. I'd like to replace with the actual o'ring but I can't find any info about the GTM kit. I don't think theres any manufacturer markings on my block either. I also don't see any other kits online that use this second o'ring, so I'm wondering why this one has it and if its necessary?

If anyone knows anything about the GTM kit please let me know!

You need that o-ring. Otherwise you will get unfiltered oil leaking into filtered oil.

Makes sense. Any idea why it looks like most sandwich plates (like this Mocal unit) don't have this o'ring?

It's the way it's designed.
