P0340 Code

Hello

New to the forum. Just thought I would pass my story along.

Went to back out of my garage and my 2010 370 sputtered and died. Sounded like it was out of gas. Gauge reads half full. Push car back into garage and commence internetting hoping for somewhere to start. End up reading the codes and it is saying P0340. Tried swapping the cam shaft sensors still P0340. Purchased two new sensors hoping to get lucky. Still P0340. Purchased a crank shaft sensor but could not get my hand in to replace. Took sensor back. Prior to calling for tow truck i decided to put a little gas in tank from can of spare gas. Car fired right up. Dumped the rest of the 5 gallons into tank , went to gas station and put in 13 more gallons. Apparently my gas gauge was stuck at half a tank and I just ran out. Ok, so I'm apparently not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Car is still producing a P0340 code. Anybody know why this might be. Car runs normal.

Thanks in advance.
Chris

Try clearing the PID. Some PIDs will "lock-in" until cleared. I don't know if P0340 is one of those codes but it's worth a try.

Edit: You may have broken the top hat on your fuel pump causing the erroneous reading.

Just to finish this. I checked the codes today and the 0340 code has gone away. I am currently code free!
