Thermostatic sandwich plate w/npt fittings

Anybody know of a thermostatic sandwich plate that has 2- 1/8" npt ports? I want to run my oil temp and oil pressure gauges off of it.

Has anyone run a non-thermostatic plate as a daily driver?

Yes, The Fast Intentions TT kit has a remote filter mount that is not on a thermostatic plate. May be best to run a remote setup.

That is a possibility. I talked to Kevin at FI today and he didn't have any suggestions. He didn't mention their remote set up but I only asked him about a sandwich plate. Specialty Z has a mishimoto non thermostatic plate on their website with two npt ports. I have an email into Seb to see if he thinks I can use it without my themostatic plate. I don't have enough room to stack the two.

Someone yesterday just posted about on a remote oil filter set up. Believe it had ports in the plate. I don't remember if if was a thermostatic or not. I kind of glazed over it.

If I don't need a thermostatic, I'd just buy the plate. I did find a mishimoto thermostatic plate with two ports, I just don't know if it'll work on the Z. I'll call mishimoto tomorrow or hopefully I'll hear back from Seb tonight.

I know but there's nothing else out there. Mocal doesn't appear to make one. Earl's has nothing.

If you get one. Check the o-rings.

I guess there's been some failure issues on some.

Guess when Mishy put the plate together. They sliced an o-ring. Causing the engine to dump all of it's oil. And you know the oil light doesn't come on until it see 5 psi.

I have an oil pressure gauge and have the warning light set to come on at 15 psi.

Here's where you can add a sensor to your existing oil cooler kit.
AN Sensor Adapter Fittings | Improved Racing

If you want a better Thermostatic sandwich plate (you'll pay $ for it)

Oil Filter Sandwich Plate with Thermostat for Oil Coolers ENV-131

They also have a remote filter plate I'm using. But just some ideas.

Looks like they bumped the price up since last time I saw. They just redesigned the thermostatic sandwich plate. If I knew stuff like this was available years ago... After my motor let go, I'm hyper sensitive about my oil system lmao. Worth every one of that $250.

The sandwich plate you're listing doesn't appear to have the 1/8" npt ports. Is that right?

No, but they may be able to modify that plate to include an NTP sensor adapter fitting or assist in integrating one to your oil system.

Any pics on where the FI TT relocates the filter?

If I remember right. The OEM pressure senor has different thread pattern then the 1/8 NPT. The adapter I bought for my psi gauge had both sizes.

You're right. I now remember having to buy one for my other car.

SS_Firehawk 04-23-2020 10:23 AM

If you're relocating your filter, then this adapter plate is an option.
