Built my own filter relocation kit.

15 Attachment(s)
After initially ordering parts to upgrade my oil lines to 10 AN, I discovered my GTM filter relocation kit was 8AN and the adapter plate was passable at best. The filter mount was cast trash. I was already unhappy with the Mocal unit. It just felt bare minimum and all these oil kits use it. I don't like it.
I decided to put together my own. I used Improved Racing in Orlando for nearly everything except two fittings and the 3ft lines I had made weeks earlier. Reason I went with them is their billet oil blocks are the best I saw anywhere. They make stuff for LS motors, but used two of their universal blocks with success. Only bad is that it doesn't seal well against the OEM oil cooler. I deleted it.

Two lines were 3ft each, with one side a 90° on both
Other two lines were 16 and 20" with one side 90° on both.
Two full flow 90° semi swivel (ORB) to 10 AN male
Two full flow 90° full swivel female 10 AN to male
Four ORB to 10 AN fittings
Two M22 to 10 AN fittings for the oil cooler
Improved Racing remote filter adapter
Improved Racing Thermostatic Remote filter mounting plate
Ford Ecoboost V6 filter (now uses M22 sized filters)

I mounted the filter in the driver side core support. Overall fitment was surprisingly good and didn't buy too much line. Replacing the oil filter is just peeling back a fender liner. For a 34 row, I'd do 90° fittings on both ends of a pair of lines and the lines would be longer. I imagine if the existing lines are 10 AN, they can be used if you already have an oil cooler.

The real test is if it fits with the supercharger, so I'll update after I complete the install. All together, I probably spent close to $850 total. I'm hoping this improves oil flow and cooling efficiency since I am supercharging the car and she sees track time.

Woah I really dig this location. I wanted to do a relocation forever ago and never could find a good spot... might have to rethink that now.

Thanks haha. I woke up at 2 AM one night and was crawling all around the car with the plate and bracket lol. I already had the lines. I just got super damn lucky it was the perfect spot and had just enough line to plumb it there.

Kinda want to move this to DIY

You've got the photos; just need some instructions. Create a new thread in the DIY section if you want  The OP in this thread isn't exactly a DIY.

Nice work, though. Very interested in your results :tiphat:

Yeah, initially it wasn't meant that way, but it's not too far off with some instructions. I know I stressed for a couple weeks dumping money into this solution, so knowing it came out as well as it did; others can use it as a blueprint for their own setup. Only caveat is I'd have to get some measurements for the 34 row location since I run a 72 row.

Did this end up fitting with your GTM supercharger? I’m running their stage 1 kit, & I’m thinking of upgrading the oil filter relocation blocks at some point. The improved racing parts look promising, but I’m not sure it would fit with the fittings needed to ‘u-turn’ the lines over to the drivers side

So, the filter is accessible from gap in bumper?
I'm guessing might be different for NISMO?
I'll have a look today.

I like the components. I need one with threads for a secondary OP gauge. However, I'd like to keep my stock oil/water cooler. I'll check out their site.

This unit shows threads for sensor but not looking for a relocation......YET. ;)

Something like this except this looks cheap: https://www.glowshiftdirect.com/oil-...mm-1-5-thread/

I haven't put the kit on. They did make a slim profile relocation adapter plate. Definitely gifts more clearance than mine.

You can relocate it where you want. I'd definitely recommend keeping it low.
