Tune up

Hey guys, I’d like to do a tune up on my 2009 370Z touring sport. Is there any recommendations on brands etc. ?
I’ve never done a tune up on the 370Z before, this will be my first one.
Thanks
Andrew

Do you have the owners manual?

The two main ones are ECUTek and Uprev. Search is your friend.

Edit: If you are talking about an old style tune up then, as other have said, modern cars don't need tune ups. No carburetor to adjust, no ignition points, etc. You may want to inspect the spark plugs, clean the MAFs, etc.

OP, if you want to tune the engine up. You would be better posting this in the engine section. You will get more hits there.

The 370z doesn't need a tune up.

You just need to do general maintenance, oil, filters, coolant change etc.

Ive heard 09 models use a bit of oil so go up to 10w-40 oil.

Best advice is to check your owners manual general maintenance section or you can view your owners manual online at Nissan USA to find out what the general maintenance schedule is for normal duty and severe duty. If you do any kind of track duty with your Z classify it as severe duty. Posting this question in the correct section will move mountains as far as getting answers. If you have not ever changed your spark plugs since 2009 it would be a good idea to install new spark plugs. The brake fluid in our cars takes a beating. Depending on the condition of your brake fluid a brake fluid flush will always help. Also look at the DIY guide/instructions and do your own oil changes they are not too hard to do yourself.

Denso Sparkplugs come factory in the US models, NGK Laser iridium plugs are available for them.
I always do my plugs at 50k, Nismo says 60 & base,Sport is like 90k miles.
It’s coil on plug & easiest if upper intake plenum is removed...requiring drainage of coolant & disconnecting some hoses & electrical plugs.
Intake gasket is reusable.
You’ll want to clean upper plenum with air intake cleaner (including both throttle bodies) & remove the 2 MAF’s....and spray them down good with mass air flow sensor cleaner only (let them dry before install)
Get a tube of dialectic grease & apply to intake gasket & around rubber seals on MAF’s.
It’s like a Vaseline.
Don’t rush & take your time- not that hard
If there’s a good bit of oil cleaned out of upper intake plenum; may want to replace both pcv valves....some guy’s add catch can’s; because the oil is no good in the combustion chamber.
Don’t forget your air filters. & serpentine belt.
Being an 09’ may want to consider new hoses.

AKA "bulb grease".
Nice stuff to have around. I use it whenever I change a lamp (helps keep moisture out of the contacts) and when I need a "soft" gasket sealer. It's called grease but I've never seen or heard of anyone using it as a lubricant.

I'm fairly certain Betty has used it for lubrication.
