Cylinder heads

I just picked up my cylinder heads from the machine shop. Had to replace mine because the cam journals were real bad.
Any how the did a great job! My question is the took the entire rocker cradle apart and cleaned ever thing before they set all the valves.
Do I need to worry about it now since the manual says not to remove the black bolts?

Very reputable shop that specializes in cylinder heads.

If i remember right, you have to get the vvel motor recalibrated after you do that, i could be remembering wrong though

Ok, I will look into that. Thank you for the info!

Guess it’s not such a reputable shop after all your heads are trash unless you can find a intact vvel girdle. I would make them buy me a new set of heads. Reason why nissan said don’t touch the Black bolts

Just a follow up. I have the heads installed with JWT C2 camshafts and many other fun things but car seems to be working great! It needs to get tuned and I will follow up after that.

Thanks

To be honest I wouldn’t worry. I’ve purposely have done this to see what happened-nothing abnormal. Now here’s why, the black bolts circled in yellow essentially just hold the driveshaft-yes this what it’s called.. to the VVEL ladder, the black nut looking things are actually a point of adjustment for the intake valves controlling the actual lift of the valve (each nut controls 2 valves) think of it as a Throttle position adjustment screw-slight amounts can make big changes, they are set at the factory. If the valves were set correctly when the heads were put back together then I wouldn’t bat an eye about it. They probably marked where the nut was set before disassembly.
P.S. I also have the JWT C2 cams.

Follow up. After a long battle of making my mistakes I finally have the car running great with a HUGE HUGE thanks to Specialty Z and especially Seb for all the guidance he has given me. I made a lot mistakes but loved everyone one of them because it makes me appreciate the end results even more.
The cylinder heads are working fantastic. No issues what so ever. My trust with the machine shop I used did not let me down at all. Midwest cylinder heads set the heads up back to spec even with tearing them completely down.
