Camshaft ladder and cylinder heads

Hello

Can camshaft ladders or cradles be exchanged between any cylinder head or do they have to be in sets?

I have to purchase used heads and most i see come with no camshafts or cradles/ladders. do the heads need to have them to work properly?

Hope this makes sense

Thank you

Yes, as far as I know they do. Why do you need heads? The ladder bolts that bolt the ladder to the head need to stay in the same spot also.

I need to replace my heads due to excessive wear on the camshaft surfaces. One of them was really bad. I just bought the car used so not sure what happened, if they ran it low on oil or did not change the oil. Everything else looks good. I am installing JWT C2 cams also so I wanted to make sure everything was good.

So the cradles/ladders are interchangeable?

Thanks for the help!!

No, they are not interchangeable. I look at my post above. Oops, it wasn't clear.

Great! Thanks again. I didn’t think so, I figured the housings would not match up.
