2nd to 3rd notch

hey guys
so when shifting from 2nd to 3rd at about 3.5k-4k rpms, if i take a little time shifting I feel a little notch when its almost fully in gear. Its this normal? car has 700 miles I bought it brand new

Also this manual trans is so notchy, which im completley cool with if its normal u know

Yes.

You can change the transmission fluid and it might feel a bit better. Search for the DIY if your interested in going that route.

What you’re experiencing is completely normal. Our trannys are notchy. The trick is to shift slow at low rpms and allow the shifter to go into gear without much pressure. These transmissions seem to have been designed for high rpm shifting. You’ll notice how much better it shifts at 6.5k - 7k especially during WOT.

At 700 miles, the trans is probably not fully broken in. I would give it some more time to see if things improve. I have a 2010 40th that just turned over 30,000 miles and I still experience what you describe. I had the trans fluid changed last year and it got a little better, but nowhere near perfect.

This is by far, the most finicky transmission that I have ever driven (I've been driving since 1973). It does take some finesse, so be patient and it will get better. Like others have said, it does like to shift on the track (ask me how I know :))
