VQ37VHR intake manifold???

What does it look like inside? Does anyone have an exploided view of the manifold? Does air from the right side and left side throttle bodies ever mix?

My ultimate question is: How is boost equalized between the right bank of cylinders and the left bank on a twin turbo set up. Most of the intercoolers I've seen look like they keep the incoming air seperate from one another.

Yes, the air is allowed to 'mix' inside the plenum.

Are there any baffles inside?

:google: your best bet for the answer

I really can't remember. All I know is that the two sides aren't completely sectioned off. I can take a pic inside the plenum tomorrow when I get to the shop (it's off a 350zHR engine which uses the same plenum). I'm redoing a bunch of the stock wiring in the engine bay, so I just happen to have my plenum off the car.

found this instead... a forged VQ37 block

OK, that's just sexy!

I've googled this before with no luck. Here is as far as I've gotten.

They call it the "Intake manifold collector", and "Intake manifold". I will call it the upper and lower intake manifolds. Exact same idea that Ford built for the 5.0L over 20 years ago.

I found these pictures long ago but they don't tell me what the upper half looks like inside. I think these are the ones you were talking about. I just want to know how the two sides equalize. I want to find a dissected view of the upper half.

Like I said, I'll get some inside pics tomorrow :)

That would be awesome because I've asked this question several times before on myg37 and no one knows.

Ivoidwarranty, I completely forgot to take some pics while I was at the shop :o

I will be back up there on Saturday, so I promise to get some pics then. I'll tie a string to my finger to remind me :icon17:

It would be nice to see someone make an intake man. thats kinda like the gt-r's

kannibul 12-31-2009 04:23 PM

I'm assuming that with those pistons being numbered, they're balanced...Wow...in any case.

I wonder what that cost...lol

That's cool, I've been waiting a year for this answer, a couple more days won't hurt.

Here are pics of the HR iplenum, which is basically the same as the 370's plenum.
