Stock fuel pump hat failures?

Hi, wondering if anyone has had a failure of the stock fuel pump hat or fuel issues related to this. I know that CJM sells a stouter replacement one. https://cj-motorsports.com/products/...-pump-hat-370z It's certainly not a required upgrade for me (I'll be installing a TopGunZ SC kit w/ 1050x injectors & Aeromotive 340lph pump), but wondering if it's a worthwhile investment in the peace of mind category. Thoughts?

Yes they are notorious for failure, good idea to replace anytime you upgrade fuel pump since your there already.

OK, thanks for the feedback. I'll add it to my build list.

It’s definitely a good investment for your Z a specially if you will already be in there for a fuel pump install. My stock fuel pump hat failed on me before at the track as well. There are several good heavy duty brands for fuel pump hats. The CJM fuel pump hat is a excellent choice.

Is this a wide spread problem for those who just drive the streets? First time I've hear of fuel pump issues.

Thanks for the feedback. Might be another thing to replace before it breaks, like the steering lock fuse pull. Either one can leave you stranded.

Pretty sure my fuel starve incident on the street about a year ago also involved my top hat breaking. Just shy of 100K mostly highway miles. Plenty of hard driving during that time though - never encountered fuel starve before the top hat broke.

Do it. Replacing it with the OEM one is more expensive and a waste of time because the same thing is just gonna keep happening

Why be a glutton for punishment.
