Aftermarket Pulley?

1 Attachment(s)
Changing my oil today I noticed this pulley due to the red chromed color. My buddy thinks it is aftermarket. I bought the car from a dealership used with 42k on the mileage. The image might be hard to determine but if anyone had a clue I would appreciate the input!

Looks to be an NST pulley.

Remove that piece of CRAP before it fails and it ends up like this

Many others as well as myself have had horrible experiences.

I thought I was immune. :shakes head:

IF they are NST? You've been Warned!! ;)

If you not going to be doing anything serous I would just keep it stock.

I would look to check IF the alternator pulley has been also replaced they are normally a set to get the max hp from NST's combo.

If it has? You'll need to change both pulleys, And the belt IF you want to convert back to stock.

The only alternatives are Stillen which only comes with the crank pulley, And the more expensive ATI crank only pulley.

I DD the car with no track use. I can’t say for sure if I plan to SC or TT at this point in time but going back to stock would be ideal. I will check to see if the alternator pulley was also aftermarket but it just seemed to be that one pulley when glanced at. I am wondering why it was installed honestly.

AMS also does a lightweight crank pulley (stock diameter) that I've had for 10k miles now on my SC'd Z. It's made it through 2 autocross events in that time and still works fine!

Get an ATI damper and be done with it.

This is the one you want, unless you have a dry sump system.
I bought this pulley just yesterday and will be here Monday afternoon, yay

I made the mistake of buying the dry sump only ATI pulley by accident.

I either need to return it, or sell it.
Its brand new, so I can still either return or sell it to someone who has a dry sump oil system and wants this pulley

The ATI damper is available from MA-Motorsports that fits the car without a drysump.

:iagree:
That's where I got mine at.

I wish ATI made a superdamper for the VQ that was 18-20% under driven and fits the factory dipstick.
