318.8 whp. Review of full bolt ons and tune

Stillen g3 cai, berk hfc, semi no name exhaust. Rt tuning tune. 318 hp off the dyno.

Pros : sounds aggressive, a little better mpg, faster obviously, more responsive.

Cons : cost, a little loud for residential neighborhood, sprint booster has less impact.

If I had it to do again I might just save a bit longer for the supercharger kit.

Definitely more fun to drive. Lot of cash though for a somewhat minimal hp gain.

Overall I'm pleased though.

Did the tuner know you had a sprint booster? If Ecutek (and maybe on uprev too?) he could have removed the boosted and adjusted the throttle mapping to your liking. Sprint booster is 100% worthless if you are getting a custom tune.

Its not a big deal. It still helps and makes the car a lot more fun. I think its the free revving that makes it seem less impactful.

To me anyone who doesn't have a sprint booster is missing out big time. Tune or no tune, its just amazing. Mine will probably mostly come on now for Saturday morning cruising.

Its easily the best bang for your buck mod. Without it the z feels neutered.

Think you spent a lot of cash on a tune, wait until your buy that stillen kit.

All those mods except the CAI you'll need anyways. Not like you would've saved much.

Yeah. Supercharger is probably a year or two away.

Hi there, i am just checking out the R/T tuning shop. Do you have the numbers before the tune?

Vince at RT Tuning did my Nismo. Their dyno reads a tad lower then some others.

Similar Boltons, 321 whp.

Similar list of boltons for my Nismo, with Orisis Tune netted 321 whp.

thanks for the replies guys. I am just trying to figure out if i'll benefit more from a dynotune at RT tuning, since this is probably the only tuner within 200 mile range from me, or if i should rather have Moncef at Admintuning do an e-tune for me....all i'll have is a Z1 intake, Z1 plenum, Berk HFC and Fast Intentions cat back on my 18 6sp Nismo...

Useless waste of money. It does nothing but trick you into thinking it's better. It does absolutely nothing for performance.

If you want to get similar (BETTER) results, do it the right way and do breathing mods that actually help throttle response and improve performance.

Quality intake, match ported and polished upper and lower intake manifolds, bored and polished throttle bodies, quality free flowing exhaust and a proper tune... All of which equates to neck snapping instant throttle response and actual power increase throughout the entire rpm range.

Endorse mods that actually work, not gimmicks.

talked to my turner folks about sprint booster, he said he can adjust the tune for that.. Using Uprev, and dyno results were about the same

Of course the dyno results were the same. The sprint booster does nothing but make your throttle inputs overly touchy. And generally, those boosters suck in low speed, 1st and 2nd gear maneuvers. They make slight throttle inputs real jerky at low speed, say like in a parking lot or garage, or in bumper to bumper traffic.

When I got my Z tuned by Seb, I asked him to leave that nonsense out of my tune.
