Clutch making funny sound
My Z is a 2009 with 140,000km or about 95,000 miles.
It has stock clutch. Whenever i start it up and clutch is pressed, it makes this loud rubbing sound. It sounds like something spinning but having a hard time doing it. The sound goes away after i let go of the clutch. Also sometimes the sound comes on immediately when engaging the clutch but sometimes it comes on 2-3 seconds after. The car drives fine and the clutch surprisingly is not slipping but the noise seems to be getting louder and lasting longer (usually goes away after 10 or so minutes). Cold weather also seems to make it worse. I have no idea what to replace or where to start. Any advice would be great. Thanks |
Talk to Z-speed about getting rid of all that heavy stock garbage. You got your monies worth from the stock equipment and time for a improvement

Looks like you really got your use from the stock Nissan OEM clutch system. A lot people would have replaced there clutch set up sooner. +1 I would talk to Joe at Z Speed Performance they will help you out and will give you good advice. I would opted for a South Bend DXD clutch set up stage 1 or 2 and flywheel and upgrade your clutch set up.
