coil problem

Code says random misfire on coil #5 x 8. Which 1 is it in the engine firing order and do you have to take the upper manifold off to get to it. The guy erases it and then I run it up to 6k rpm and the light comes back on.:driving:

Trips says you don't have to remove the upper manifold to get to them. Here is a diagram of the engine with the firing order.

Thats not necessarily true in this case.

The coil packs are accessible without the pia removal of a manifold. ;)

Thanks for the info. Looks like no one ever posted pics:ugh2: for changing spark plugs. Just take off bar and loosen TB and move coils and vac lines is what I read. I knew #5 would be against the wall in the back just like my 300zx.
