Cold Air Intake

Whats a good intake for z34? I found a stillen long tube intake gen 3 for 480$ is that a good price or is there better?

The Stillen is good; I have the Z1 & added the upgraded high-flow 6" filter bases,,,but you have to modify or purchase a modified crash bar.
The high-flow upgrade will also work on the stillen kit.
Z1's kit gives you the option to plumb the silicone piping through the radiator core without trimming, but the Stillen has to be trimmed.
I purchased the Z1 because it keep's the maf's in the factory location & didn't require an immediate tune....some run the stillen without a tune.
Those 2 are probably the most common & equal on power gain's....someone else may chime in w/their opinion.

OP, whatever intake you go with make sure it's a "long-tube" style. The short tube intakes (K&N typhoon for example) are nothing more than hot air intakes. If a long tube style intake isn't for you then just go with high flow filters and post MAF tubes.

Also, there's already a ton of other threads on the forum about intakes, try searching.

The Takeda long tube cold air intake or the Stillen Generation 3 long tube cold air intake would be my choice if you are going to be installing a long tube intake. I would just avoid the short tube cold air intakes in the engine bay even with a heat shield they heat soak after your engine reaches operating temperatures and becomes more of a hot air intake than anything. If you decide on a long tube intake you will have to remove your front bumper cover everytime you have to replace or clean your air filter on your long tube cold air intake that is something to think about.

Yep; pending on your driving,,,probably wouldn't be but once a year.

I was concerned about the bumper removal originally too. After you do it the first time you'll realize just how easy it is and that it's not a big deal.

Once every year I clean my K&N cone style air filters with K&N power kleen cleaner and degreaser. You let the air filters soak for about ten minutes to loosen the dirt and grime in your dirty air filters after they have been completely sprayed with the K&N power kleen cleaner and degreaser. Then rinse off your air filters with cool low pressure water from the clean side out in order to flush all the dirt and grime out of the filters. Then let your air filters air dry in the sun for about one or two hours. Do not re oil your air filter if it requires to be oiled until the air filters are completely dry. After the air filters are completely dry you can evenly oil your air filters but make sure not to over oil your air filters as over oiling your air filters can possibly damage your mass air sensor. Allow the air filter oil to wick for about twenty minutes and wipe off any excess air filter oil with a clean rag. Then you install your clean air filters. After about one year of normal use I noticed my air filters were dirty and needed to cleaned and oiled with a K&N air filter recharge kit. You also simply just replace your air filters if they are old showing signs of wear or you don't or can't wait to take the time to clean and oil your air filters it's your choice. The Stillen Generation 3 long tube cold air intake is one of the better long tube cold air intake kits I have seen for the Nissan 370Z with very good fitment. The Takeda long tube cold air intake is great choice also with very good fitment too. Be careful which brand long tube cold air intake you purchase because they don't all fit the same. Some brand long tube cold air intakes need to be adjusted or even cut to fit properly. Removing the front bumper cover is pretty simple just be careful when removing it and have something to set it on.
