Clutch in, horrible crunch/grind coming to a stop

2014 Nismo 11K miles. Installed RJM Pedal about a month ago. No issues. Just replaced Trans (MT-85) and Diff (75w-90) fluid. This has happened maybe 5 or 6 times since the fluid change, over the last 2 weeks. Coming to a stop in gear, probably 1st, press the clutch pedal in. I feel and hear grinding, crunching coming through the pedal. Note I'm not moving the shifter or changing gears, transmission feels fine. This is simply from pressing the clutch pedal in. TO Bearing? CSC issue? Never experienced anything like this before in any other car.

I think you have to go in and look. Had a fiction plate come apart on me a long time ago. Springs fell out and locked the engine to the transmission. Definitely chance of screwing something up in there so you should stop driving it until its fixed. Might want to put the peddles back to stock before trying to get warranty work done on it. You know they're going to blame that and charge you otherwise.

does it happen when in neutral or engine not running? Maybe it is the rjm pedal.

I imagine if it came from the clutch or internal of the transmission, you'd feel it on the shifter as well.

With the adjustments on the pedal are you sure you're having a full release of the clutch when you press the pedal down? Maybe it's only partially disengaging and so you're feeling it still up against the pressure plate a bit.

I've never felt or heard it with engine off. Since Ive always been in gear when pressing the pedal, I've never been in neutral when it happened.

"The internet" says it's my throw out bearing. It's very infrequent. But imagine rolling to a stop sign, in 1st, press clutch pedal and you think something is about to fall out of the bottom/front of the car. It lasts about ½ a second, but nothing really happens and everything is fine.

I think that would make sense if I were trying to shift gears when this happens. But with how this happens, it would be like others experiencing this when pressing in the clutch pedal only partially. All I'm doing is pressing the pedal, in 1st gear, preparing to stop. It's not just a grind, sometimes it a pretty significant clunk.

In thinking about now, and when it occurs, it's seems like a magnified version of what most 370z owners complain about when they press the clutch pedal in for 1-2 shift and hear that rattling sound similar to a motorcycle/race car sequential gearbox selecting 1st gear. Except now it like "oh crap, what just happened, will my car still move?"

Hmm. Does it always do it, or does it go away after a while of driving? Just wondering if it's something with having changed the oil in the trans.

Happens maybe once every 3 or 4 days. Sound lasts ½ a second. And everything is fine after that. Car always shifts just fine.

It's the throw out bearing ur feeling when pressed on the clutch, it's normal, now if you have grinding going on with the transmission goin to 1 from 2nd, or it's going hard in to a gear after the oil change I do suggest using RedLine oil for our transmission, it works wonders.

Also post a video clip. Helps a lot.

Yeah, as I said, used Redline MT-85 trans and 75W-90 Diff. Probably not normal as it just started doing this, and happens very infrequently, hence, no video. :( But probably is the TO bearing. Also as mentioned, Im not shifting gears, its just the pedal that's moving when this happens. Haven't seen anyone else here post a similar issue. Given the noise and feel of this, if it were normal, it'd be all over the forum, cause its pretty bad. I'll probably end up getting a new clutch. :/

i'd just take it in and let the dealer figure it out. i assume it is still under warranty.

Warranty ended in January. Unless this is covered under something that lasts more than 3 yrs.
