Need help with my 370z
So I was just driving around last week and stopped to a Red light. After Green light shows up, I hit the gas and as I was accelerating suddenly the car is doing a STOP and GO motion while I was pressing the gas. So I was freaking out and pulled over right away, waited for a couple mins and decided to go again and after that car is fine and didn't do the stop and go motion. This is the first time it happened since I got the car.
Today, I was just cruising around and came to a Red light. After green light, I hit the gas again and as I was accelerating the STOP and GO motion started happening again while I was pressing the gas and SERVICE ENGINE light came on. Idk, what's the problem but I was guessing that it has something to do with the FUEL PUMP or FUEL INJECTORS. Can somebody confirm this for me? I've only owned the car for over a month and bought it preowned. It's AT transmission and I do have warranty for this car |
how much gas do you have in your tank? sounds like the fuel starvation issue that commonly happens.

O2 sensor may have went bad ? Just a guess but you can confirm by reading the code with an OBD tool and confirm what code it is throwing, then you can proceed from there.

also have you checked the fuel pump? |
I'm going to guess fuel related. Injectors, pump, filter.

Please describe stop and go motion in more detail with simulated sound

Yea, follow what BC and Sgt said. Out of warranty, stay away from the dealer. Any reputable mechanic shop in your area can hook up the OBD scanner to read the codes and let you know what they are.

Drentooth, is your car manual or automatic? Also What was your oil temperature at the time this happened?
|
My guess is one of the sensors have gone bad. I doubt its something major. Check with your dealer since you have warranty.

Have warranty=use warranty.... use it as much as u can as often as u can

Drive it with VDC off. If it still does it then do what they say above. If it goes away, you're getting some wheel slip and VDC is kicking in. Lighten up on your foot and drive with a little more finesse. You can use the VDC indicator to see how far you need to lighten off. Once you get the balance worked out, turn the VDC off again and see how much further you can push it before the car comes loose. BTW, do your driving development at your own risk. Many people wreck while developing performance driving skills.

One other thing you can check... Lift up the rear and look at your half shafts. Make sure the sprocket for your half shaft sensors isn't caked with crud. They can be dirty, but should not have any chunks of crud on them. These sensors tell the computer how fast each shaft is spinning if the difference is too great, it will apply brakes to the one that's spinning too fast.
