6mt Z won't move while in gear? Help!

So I'm having an interesting problem that I haven't seen on this forum yet. I'm driving a 6mt and i can put the car in gear and it wants to move it but it can't. It has the similar feeling to when you put an auto car in park while your going 1mph and the car rocks back and forth slightly. Like that mechanical stuck in between 2 gears feel. That's exactly the feel I get when I try and move. but I was also thinking maybe my breaks are stuck closed. I have no idea. I have no CEL and I can disengage my parking break with no issues. I'm puzzled. Any help would be great.

Mods. I had no idea where to post this, sorry in advance.

Your in PA i know it's cold and icy there right now. Even though your parking break handle let's go, the brakes themselves might be iced. Just a thought

Have you had any other issues with your clutch or trans? Has this been a progressive issue?

My parking brakes froze a few weeks ago and the car didn't want to move at all. After a few attempts to move, I finally got a "POP" sound when they broke loose.
I wouldn't recommend this method though.

When you say "froze", was it literally frozen because of the temperature, or were you figuratively speaking and it was just stuck in place?

Literally frozen because of temperature.

Hopefully one of the suggestions in that article will help you solve this problem.

Hey everyone thanks for the recommendations. It turned out my front right brake was frozen in place. It was warm on Thursday and rainy and yesterday it was cold enough to freeze, creating the issue. after rocking the car back and forth a few times it came loose with a loud "pop" and now it moves!

Glad you got it fixed.

Nice, good thing that was resolved without much hassle. Was it the actual caliper that was frozen? Never heard of that.. Pretty interesting the frigid temps could do that.

That "pop" scared the crap out of me when mine did it. Especially since I had just replaced the parking brake pads a few months ago.
Glad you got it figured out.
I stopped using my parking brake during freezing temps unless I absolutely need it (steep hills, etc.).

The pop scared me also, i figured i either fixed it or i just cost myself alot of money:rofl2: My Z is winterized now and wont see light again until spring. like you said, i decided to leave it in gear instead of the parking break in case i need to move it again and have to deal with frozen brakes.
