Auto vs. Manual Differentials

What are the physical differences between the differentials found in the automatic vs. the ones found in the manuals?

Internal Gear ratios appear to be the only difference.

3.692 for the Manual
3.357 for the Auto

I have an 08 G37 with auto and supposedly 3.692 gears. Would I be able to get 4.08's in there?

There's a thread here somewhere on doing that...Apparently the truck gears fit..
