Fuel pump failure?

The Z starts. But the RPM gauge doesn't move, idle rough for a about 2 second and turn off.
also every time that I try to start it smell like acetone under the driver side door Any ideas? I'm thinking fuel pump Z has about 68k miles All the light turn on at idle, the battery have about 3 months 'Took it to auto parts was low, but OK, they charge it but still the same.

Damaged fuel line somewhere maybe?

The 370Z is pretty good at self-diagnosis. Get an OBD scanner and see if any DTCs are present.

Edit: I suspect an ignition timing problem, eg, crank position sensor.

Sounds like fuel pump. Mine did the same thing.

Thanks for the input
Taking the car to the dealer today.
I can replace the pump myself, I'm no mechanic, but very handy with tools, but right now, very busy with work.

Update
The dealer puts the z on the computer and the fuel pump failed
They wanted $900.00 for replacing the pump plus $800.00 to fix the driver side window that doesn't go up.
Told them don't touch the car
Ordered a new pump from CONCEPT Z will be here Wednesday

You might want to look into the CJM billet top hat for the fuel pump assembly while you are there. I would highly suggest doing it now when you are taking everything out, since that is what you have to do to install the top hat.

Thanks Read about it, when was researching the forums,
But gonna look at it

If doing the top hat install, which involves spending some time servicing the fuel pump module... while already having the fuel pump module apart, I would forget replacing it with a new one, and just get a new universal pump like the Walbro 255 or a DW drop-in pump. Probably a fraction of the cost of a new fuel pump module from Nissan.

Z fixed :happydance:
Yesterday the pump came in, and took the day off to fix the Z. The fuel pump was hanging by the wires and hose. (See photos) I'm guessing that the pump broke the plastic when I has the accident last month, but was hanging and probably broke and hell got loose;)
