Limp/valet mode, low fob battery?
Good evening, recently I've been having issues with my car in the mornings, never after work and nothing cold just morning. It'll start up fine but lack any kind of power, not a real limp mode since it'll rev past 3500 and drive past it just very slowly, sometimes I have to restart the car two or three times..
Do we have some sort of valet mode in the car, or when the key fob battery gets low? Anyone had any issues like this? |
You need to specify youre car what year? Which transmission type? We need to know if any work has been done to it or anything? Any codes pop up, what grade of gas you put in?
Lets start there. |
His car is 2013 6MT sport pkg approx 41k miles. Tranny was replaced @ 33k miles. Mods relevant are exhaust and TP.
http://www.the370z.com/370z-sale/113...ts-extras.html I say with certainty that low key fob battery have no effect on how the car drives. I don't think there's a valet mode by default. |
2013 48000 miles manual with catback exhaust and test pipes, 93 octance is all that's used, no codes. This has happened before and after the exhaust work was done but has become more common recently
|
ok, on your exhaust, do you have straight pipes or you have catalicysts installed? if you jave strt pipes, then yes you WILL lose low end rpm torque, due to low back pressure on the exhaust, but should get more torque on the high end rpm.
now you r saying that it significantly loses torque on low end could be few things, clean ur throttle bodies, your intake filter, make sure ur brake isnt loked up by touching every wheel after a drive and see if any of them hotter than the others, if possible you can borrow a TorqeApp phone and plug in see ur idle A/F ratio. |
Also, check youre tire pressure. Should be 35psi.
|
It is not the exhaust losing torque numbers, it is a significant lose of power, happening a few times on cold start, fixed when restarted, it isn't a brake issue since it'll be fixed after a restart, my thought is something in the ecu possibly intake like you said, I'm going to unplug the negative and let it reset and see
|
in that case it could be sensor related, and you have no codes? It will reveal its ugly head soon, man i have the UpRev its soo much easier to diagnose with it, it could also be your O2 sensor/s. Bad Cat, fuel pump.
