Quaife LSD Retainer Clip Question
Hello guys!
So i got a pumpkin with 4.08 gears and a Quaife LSD installed. It was installed on a 09' Sport and my Z is a 13' Touring. The stub axles were different since the Base/Touring stub axles have threads on them and not with the Sport stub axles. So we had to swap them. When pulling one of the stub axles out the retaining ring came with it. I was under the assumption that it was reinstalled with the new ring but the guy just wanted to get it done and didn't put it back in with the new stub axles. Long story short I just found out when I took my car to the shop since I was getting a code after hitting a speed bump. I was told the stub axle wasn't locking and it needs replaced. I pulled it down and got everything apart and have everything but there ins't a spot for the ring itself inside the LSD. Am i missing something? Should I get a press and push the stab axle in with the ring on and call it a day? I dont want to damage anything and this is the last part of the puzzle. Sorry no pics atm. Any help would be great tho! |
The Quaife may require a different stub axle. Do some searching on here on what is needed to swap it out.

For a Base 370z the quaife LSD is pretty much a direct drop in. You need an extra stub axle from the Base if you have a Sport diff with the vLSD.

They have a quaife for each type (base MT QDF10L, Base auto QDF11L, and vlsd QDF13L) now.
No extra parts needed. |
I believe I found the problem after getting the part number fron the guy i bought it from and checking Z1.
