Clutch and flywheel question
Hello guys, my car is currently on 32k km, I bought it with 29k and the clutch just feels really worn out.
So I was wondering about buying "370z Competition Clutch Stage 3 Ceramic Street Strip 2600" clutch from tarmacsportz in uk. My question is if I can replace my clutch without buying a new flywheel or do I need to upgrade from stock one? |
You may or may not have to replace the flywheel. Your installer should inspect it upon removal to determine whether it can be reused. Typically 30K kms of use should not require replacing the flywheel. But if the clutch really is toast already, someone obviously did not know how to drive a manual and who knows what the flywheel looks like :ugh:
Are you sure its the clutch? Drive 35 mph in 5th gear and try to accelerate quickly. Does the clutch slip? I.e. RPMs go up but the car doesn't accelerate. If so, then it is definitely your clutch. If not, it could just be the crappy clutch pedal or clutch hydraulic system. Both the slave and master cylinders are prone to failure - most common symptom is a soft or "mushy" clutch pedal feel. Although CSC failure is typically catastrophic and will strand you on the side of the road. |
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
