Cpc (evap) delete?

Hey guys,

What is the proper way to delete the Evap system on these cars? I want to repurpose the The canister purge volume control solenoid to control my boost controller which means modifying the evap system in a way that doesnt cause buildup (or vac) in the fuel tank.

Any tips or tricks from anyone who has done similar or fully deleted the evap system? I dont want to just unplug the Evap solenoid incase that would cause a buildup of pressure in the fuel tank.

Thanks

Mitch

No one is using Ecutek to control their boost yet on here? I started wiring in my GM Map Sensor and going to start on the boost controller solenoid shortly, just unsure what to do with the evap system as a whole.

I just deleted mine. One hose going up to the motor to the solenoid. Just pull it and block the two ports on the mani, unplug everything and tape it up, and as for the gas tank you'll need a one way roll over valve for the vent and then just delete the CELs.

I have no idea what you're trying to do though.

So you just put a 1 way on the tank to let pressure out but not in? You got rid of the charcoal canister at the back? Looking at the service manual there is also a vent back there that plugs into the car.

I just need to repurpose the solenoid at the back of the intake manifold to control my boost, thats all.

No it's in and out on mine but in a roll over it plugs up. The OEM cap is actually both ways too but at like 20psi. I cut my tank in half so I deleted the hose going to the evap can. The little 1/8th line was going up to the filler neck but it wouldn't fill because it was getting clogged with fuel because the evap line was deleted and fuel goes down both tubes. So now that 1/8th line basically vents to atmos unless in a roll over or if fuel splashes up that line as it has an anti purge valve in it also.

Awesome thread!

Few quick questions if you have a second.

I seen a picture of that bulkhead you used to get the power into the tank for the fuel pump. Where did you find that? I would like to get one as well.

As far as a full delete I am unsure if I want to go that far, essentially I am looking for a way to repurpose the outputs that control that CPC valve on the back of the engine that you removed. I wonder if just unplugging that valve and running the engine would have any side effects? As I understand it the system would vent to atmosphere just like it does at idle like it said in that picture you had in your thread as shown below.

Thanks for the link!
